Latest News
Since the last newsletter back in December 2009, Charlestown Ltd has
been assessed and passed the UVDB Verify Assessment, this is a
pre-qualification requirement of many utilities and service sector
clients. The assessment last the whole day with half of the time
assessing the office procedures and the rest of the day on-site
assessing the working practices of Charlestown Ltd.

CES has also been
working on several small projects. These have included new lighting and
power changes in a logistics warehouse, electrical inspections of
commercial, industrial and entertainment premises.
CES also designed and
installed a new fire alarm system in a convent. This provided a few
challenges but both Paul and Liam were more than up to the task.
Charlestown Data and
Telecom Services
CDTS has been busy completing a 200+ CAT5e data installation at a Gas
Storage facility on the east coast. CDTS has also completed another 200+
CAT5e data installation along with power for a new floor of an office in
Derby. Both of the above projects were certified using our recently
purchased Lantek 11 Cat5e + CAT6 certifier.

carrying out Line of Site surveys as well as Radio surveys. These have
been carried out using a variety of access solutions dependent on the
individual site requirements.

Radio Towers, Building mounts and Poles over the last 6 months.

Festival Light Services
FLS had an interesting start
to the year with January snows slowing down the removals of the festive
lights. All items were recovered and returned to the stores for PAT
testing / repairs in preparation for the 2010 – 2011 season.

As part of our planned
sales drive letters have been sent to all Council Festive Light
Coordinators’ throughout the North of England. This letter is an
introduction to Charlestown Ltd’s services with a sample certificate /
reports and contact details.
Bob has already been
busy walking the streets of town centres gathering information for this
year’s quotes.
General Information
We must apologise for neglecting the quarterly
newsletter, but the past six months have proved to be a difficult time
and the Newsletter just didn’t get published. Charlestown Ltd has had to
let our newly qualified fourth year apprentice go, we wish Oliver all
the best.
It is part of our
strategy to have an apprentice at every level and continue to develop
the apprentices to the best of their and our ability. We will be
recruiting a first year apprentice to keep the teams fully staffed.
On a lighter note we
welcome the youngest member of Charlestown Ltd. Lewis Chapman was born
on the 15th April 2010, congratulations to Dawn and Bob.
