Connected - The Charlestown Newsletter

Edition 2 - Christmas 2004

Welcome to Charlestown's Quarterly e-mail newsletter 'Connected'.  We hope it is interesting and informative. In future newsletters we shall concentrate on a different part of the business to give some background information about Charlestown Ltd.

Website

The Charlestown Web is a useful source of information on our current status and range of services - please feel free to browse at www.charles-town.co.uk

Safety Note!

Winter is upon us and up to press we have not had any bad weather, but it is important to be prepared. It only takes a couple of minutes to ensure your vehicle won’t let you down – good battery, lights working, fluid levels correct & plenty of water in the washer bottle.

Always a good idea is de-icer a blanket, shovel & tow-rope.

This photo was taken last year while attending a call-out 98 miles from base,
and I’m glad I had taken a shovel!

Festive Cheer!

As part of our business growth strategy, Charlestown Ltd has combined two of its core activities – electrical installation & working at height. This year we have successfully tendered for a two-year contract to install the festive lights in a major northern city. The lights were officially switched on in late November – on time and within budget. Charlestown Ltd has also completed the installation of festive lights in five small towns and these were all switched on in late November.

Resource Management has been a challenge, however with our team spirit & multi-tasking personnel all our projects whether electrical, data or telecoms are progressing or have been completed on schedule.

Continuity

Charlestown Ltd continues to fulfil its five year contract with a major utility company to provide a complete maintenance service on telecommunication sites .Our second year has seen over 200 + visits to the 87 sites.

Christmas Time

We hope all our Clients & Suppliers have a Happy Christmas & Prosperous New Year & we look forward to working together to achieve success in 2005.

A Lighter Note

To follow up the picture we published in the last newsletter, Bob did eventually manage to calculate the cost of the blinds...

After much time spent deciding on which colour would suit the office décor, he got the cheapest he could find!

The next newsletter will be due in March, and hopefully will be packed with news and developments.

In closing may I thank everybody who has taken the time to read this newsletter.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
