The build and move has been a challenge whilst maintaining business as
usual conditions. We are now looking forward to the 2009 with all the
challenges that the present trading climate has to offer.

Festival Light Services
All 36 Festival Light projects have
now been installed. The teams are now looking forward to a well earned
Christmas break. Charlestown Ltd won another two town centre’s this
year. Charlestown Ltd has installed 25 trees, 150 cross street features,
400 column mount features and 40,000 lamps in various city centres,
town’s and villages throughout the North of England.

All these installations have to be removed and delivered back to storage
for PAT testing and packing-up in readiness for next years season.

Cooper Electrical Services
CES has been busy again during
a company shut down period Charlestown Ltd had 23 hours to carry-out the
periodic inspection and testing of 192 individual circuits. This was
carried out in shifts with teams working 8 hour shifts.
The client commented “I would just like to add that your guys were
absolutely brilliant this weekend and carried out everything asked of
them without question. So can you pass on my thanks to all those
involved and many thanks to Bob and yourself for all your help.”

CES has also installed a 1,400amp Distribution Board. This entailed
installing and connecting dual 630mm2 singles to the transformer and
liaising with CE Electric and receiving permits to work. The outgoing
circuits also included dual 240mm2 4-core cables, unfortunately these
cables only lasted 36hours before thieves broke into the factory and
removed all the copper cabling totalling 1.5 tons and over £6,000 in
value. Security was upgraded on the site before replacements were
installed.

Technical Height Services
THS has been busy
with microwave link and antenna installations. The annual site
maintenance contract has just been finished, with the completion of the
third maintenance schedule visit.

Charlestown Data and
Telecom Services
CDTS has
completed a CAT6 data installation for a main contractor working for a
large beverage company, this project has been especially challenging for
the technicians on site who had to work in difficult conditions.
Charlestown has also been busy installing 250 CAT5e data installation
for a large utility company. The project also required multiple fibre
optic and telephony connections to be installed at the same time.
Health & Safety/Personnel
Sabine has also passed the annual ISO 9001 visit, congratulations!
All staff passed a “surprise” PPE inspection, with everybody having the
right safety equipment with them. Congratulations
