Welcome to the Winter edition of 'Connected' the Charlestown Newsletter. We hope
there is something of interest for everyone in the Newsletter.
This autumn has been the busiest time so far at Charlestown Limited with
everybody looking forward to a well-earned Christmas Break!

now looking forward to a well earned Christmas break. Before all the
installations are removed and delivered back to storage for PAT testing

Project Managers and electrical teams have been extremely busy. The
Apartment refurbishment in the centre of Bradford has been completed.
The Sixth Form Extension has been completed.
Due for completion on time and budget is a 24 apartment, six storey new
build. The Leeds 16 apartment new build is progressing on time and
budget.
CES has also won a major refurbishment contract for a large distribution
company in Cheshire. This project involves removing redundant equipment,
testing the essential electrical installation, new emergency lighting
and fire detection system. All the above has to be completed over a six
week period in the warehouse (450,000sq ft) before it is fully
operational early in the New Year.

been busy with installations and line of sight surveys throughout the
region.

completion of the generator maintenance schedules.
Charlestown Data and Telecom Services
CDTS has completed the 1600 CAT5e data installation to enable the client
to relocate it’s staff to a single site enhancing it’s efficiency. This
project was carried out under tight timescales and provided a challenge
to CDTS and the IT department managing the relocations.

Charlestown has also been busy installing 672 CAT5e screened connection
between network and server racks within a clients data suite. The
project also required multiple fibre optic connections to be installed
at the same time.
Health & Safety/Personnel
Congratulations to Bob and Gill who have recently completed the 5-day
IOSH Managing Safely course with flying colours.
Sabine
has also passed the annual ISO 9001 visit at her first attempt,
congratulations!
Charlestown would also like to welcome Richard Midgley to the fold.
Richard has assisted with the Festival Lights “session” for the last two
years, and has now decided to take the plunge and join Charlestown as an
electricians mate.
As well as Richard, Graham Campbell will join Charlestown in the New
Year. Graham brings a wealth of electrical experience and will certainly
help the apprentices with his depth of knowledge and experience.
The Charlestown Christmas Party
Even with the busy schedule leading up to the Christmas Break,
Charlestown found the time to enjoy a Party at the Dubrovnik Hotel in
Bradford on the 15th December. It was, as is often the case,
a lively affair with good company, excellent food and a 'few' drinks, as
the photos show...

"Although very tired and
emotional, and needing more than just moral support, Santa still enjoyed
himself at the Charlestown party."

"He repeatedly snapped his fingers but his over-sized pint glass just
wouldn't fill itself..."
Charlestown Ltd closes for the Christmas Break at 12 noon on the 21st
December and opens for business on Monday the 7th January
2008. So it just leaves Bob and myself to wish all clients, colleagues
and suppliers a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
